Michigan Magnet Treasures are found in bodies of water

We have all seen the people at the beach, walking through parks and monitoring open fields/nature areas with their metal detectors. At first glance we often say this is a strange hobby, but it can also be an extremely lucrative hobby. You often come across beautiful jewelry, cell phones, and other valuable metals and electronics. Some of these items will be returned to their owners, while others may be kept or sold for personal gain.

This Michigan man has taken the idea of buried or sunken treasure to a new level by ditching the old ways and finding something that’s both entertaining and lucrative. There are so many things happening on the banks of rivers, on lakes and even on boats where people lose their valuables in the water, this man comes through with his tools and fishes them out, a lot of his work is done here in Michigan, but he moves all over the country.

The Michigan Magnet Man is all over TikTok, YouTube and other social media platforms sharing his adventures fishing things out of water. He spends much of his time in Michigan trying to clean and keep waterways across the state clean. He doesn’t use the “traditional” metal detector method, preferring to use a magnet to find treasure.

  • Safes
  • Street signs
  • and more

Often, the Michigan Magnet Man has to call authorities to let them know he has discovered stolen property, a firearm or other weapons. They pick up these items and analyze them for connections to potentially unsolved crimes. Additionally, he will be able to present his findings and take them home as he continues to work toward cleaning up our waterways.
